Nelson-based company Goover has announced a world-first breakthrough set to disrupt the bike rack industry.

The Goover Lift-Free E-Bike Rack is the only rack that allows riders to load an e-bike without lifting it. This directly addresses one of the most significant global pain points for ebike owners.

“There are more than 100 million riders over the age of 50,” says Goover founder Frank Witowski, “many of whom struggle with lifting heavy electric bikes onto traditional transport racks. But this innovation isn’t only for them, it’s for everyone who wants to enjoy their cycling.”

Despite monumental advances in ebike technology since the 1990s, the mechanics of transporting them have lagged behind, says Frank.

“Until now, loading an ebike has remained a heavy, awkward, and often unsafe task for many riders. Even riders who invested in premium, lighter carbonfibre bikes still had to load 25–35 kg frames onto high-mount racks. I’ve seen that issue firsthand and it was a problem I wanted to solve.”

Frank knows the market he is serving well. He is also the founder of multi-award winning business Hybrid Bikes. As a longtime designer of custom carbonfibre ebikes, Frank has spent nearly a decade listening to his customer base, the majority of them active riders over 50 who shared the exact same frustration – they loved riding but hated loading their e-bike.

“Some riders told me that they avoided long-distance trips altogether because of this barrier. That’s not good enough. I knew the industry needed a mechanical breakthrough to do something about that.”

The spark occurred when a friend showed him a unique coupling system and Frank immediately saw the answer. After 18 months of intensive design, development, and rigorous testing—starting from his Nelson garage and extending to his manufacturing facility in China—the Goover LiftFree Rack was born.

The Goover Lift-Free Rack recently achieved important validation for its engineering integrity and safety performance to internationally recognised standards when it passed both the E-Mark and ECER026 Europe Bike Rack testing.

It’s already turning heads globally for its innovation, having recently been awarded the Global Business Innovation Excellence Award 2026 by The Enterprise World magazine.

“Goover’s patented liftfree system changes the game entirely,” says Frank. “It’s a true reinvention of the ebike rack. It’s simple and completely unique to the market.”

Goover is positioned to become the world’s preferred ebike rack company by offering a patented utility solution that competitors cannot match, says Frank.

“We want people to really enjoy their cycling. Our new Goover lift-free bike rack provides the final, vital piece of the puzzle. We are responding to real rider needs and making cycling more accessible and completely independent for millions of riders worldwide.”
